Eagles Central:
In a landslide, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Trent Cole was named the best 4-3 defensive end in the National Football League over the past three seasons, according to a study conducted by Pro Football Focus.
Cole finished fifth in 2008, third in 2009, and first in 2010.
He has scored as the best run stopper in the NFL over the past two seasons. And he has the fourth most quarterback disruptions over the past three years.
His score of 113.4 over the past three years is far and above the best mark among 4-3 defensive ends. The second best mark is the score by Indianapolis Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney, who collected a 90.5.
Rounding out the top five were John Abraham of the Atlanta Falcons, Terrell Suggs of the Baltimore Ravens, and Julius Peppers of the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
