Rex Ryan and the New York Jets just can’t help themselves, and the newest boast is Quinton Coples. Ryan held Coples out of the Saturday rookie practice, stating he already impressed him and he wanted to get a better look at other defensive linemen. Coples has been the “Big apple of his eye”, pouring praise on the rookie at every turn. Coples impressed Ryan in his first practice Friday as he raved that the former North Carolina star had "about six" sacks while playing most of the snaps all along the defensive line.

Tomlinson claims he is ’95 percent’ retired

In the midst of a failed attempt to find a new home this offseason, it appears LaDainian Tomlinson already has one foot out of the door, and is leaning toward hanging up his illustrious cleats. Jim Trotter of SI.com recently spoke with NFL running back LaDanian Tomlinson, who told him that he’s 95% retired. He also said that it would take the right team and situation for him to play again. Adjusting the 46 to HS Football

When I first unveiled our new defense to the youth coaching staff I was met with looks of fear over the future of our football program. The coaches couldn’t believe I wanted to run a 4-6-1 defense at the varsity level!
