The Oakland Raiders introduced Dennis Allen as their head coach on Monday, and one of the first decisions he's made is that Carson Palmer will be the team's starting quarterback in 2012. Allen made the Palmer-as-starting quarterback disclosure on NBC Sportstalk. Acquired from the Cincinnati Bengals in a mid-season trade for two high-round draft choices, Palmer completed 199-of-328 pass attempts for 2,753 yards with 13 touchdowns and 16 interceptions. The 32-year-old Palmer has been intercepted 36 times in his last 26 games and is due $12.5 million in base salary in 2012, $5 million of which is guaranteed. "He's excited, and we're excited for him," general manager Reggie McKenzie said of Palmer according to Steve Corkran of the Bay Area News Group.
