Pro Sports Daily:
Raiders coach Dennis Allen went back and forth on whether to play Terrelle Pryor against Washington until finally reaching a decision the night before Sunday's game.
Allen said he chose to err on the side of "extreme caution" in defending his decision Sunday after a 24-14 loss at O.co Coliseum.
"We were actually at a point where we were ready to go with Terrelle" Allen said. "We visited with him one more time with the doctors and we just didn't feel good about letting him play. It just wasn't the right thing to do and we wanted to make sure we did right by him."
As to whether Pryor will be available to face the San Diego Chargers in a week Allen said: "I'm very hopeful. We were at the point where we were about ready to say 'He's got it' but we just didn't feel comfortable going ahead and letting him play."
Free safety Charles Woodson said players know the deal when it comes to concussions.
