After suffering a tough loss at home to their division rivals from San Diego, the Raiders will be looking to rebound this weekend against the Dolphins on the road. They’ll have to do so without several key players though, as injuries have already begun to take their toll. Here’s the latest news out of Oakland…

  • Adam Caplan of the Sideline View reported earlier today the Raiders have placed injured wide receiver Jacoby Ford on the injured reserve list and have not designated him for a possible return, effectively ending his season before it began.
  • In a similar vein, Caplan also reported that cornerback Ronald Bartell will join Ford on the injured reserve list, but he could potentially come back this season, as Oakland has him listed as designated for return. Bartell is recovering from a fractured scapula and will be out four to six weeks under his current prognosis.
  • The Raiders will have second year center Stefen Wisniewski back in the fold when they take the field in Miami on Sunday, according to an Associated Press report. Wisniewski has been recovering from off-season shoulder surgery and had not played a snap with the team since the first pre-season game, in which he injured his calf muscle.
  • San Francisco Chronicle beat writer Vic Tafur is reporting that Oakland has signed cornerback Coye Francies and long snapper Nick Guess off their practice squad to take the place of the injured Ford and Bartell.
