Mac's Football Blog reports that the Oakland Raiders have re-signed running back Michael Bennett to a one-year contract worth $890,000. This seems like a curious move as Bennett is 33-years old, received just two carries in seven appearances last season, and dating back to 2006 is averaging 3.54 yards per attempt. It would probably be in Oakland's best interest to move on, but perhaps owner Al Davis envisions Bennett as insurance in the event he's unable to re-sign free agent Michael Bush. With all that was going on, Bennett got lost in the re-signing shuffle before the expiration of the CBA.
