Found August 27, 2013 on FF Locker Room:
The Oakland Raiders have put rookie running back Latavius Murray on injured reserve according to the Bay Sports Report. Murray was considered a sleeper pick going into 2013 as a 6th round pick out of UCF. Considered similar to Darren McFadden, Murray had a chance to carve out significant time this season. McFadden is sure to get hurt and the only other backs ahead of Murray were Rashad Jennings and Marcel Reece. Reece proved that he can be a reliable change-of-pace runner but Jennings was absolutely terrible in MJD’s stead for the Jaguars last year. Hopefully Murray can make it back next season fully healthy but this just could be the curse of the Raiders. I wouldn’t touch a Raiders RB not named Marcus Allen with a 17 round draft pick!    The post Raiders Rookie RB Latavius Murray Lost For Season appeared first on FFLockerRoom.

The TP2 Factor: The Oakland Raiders Are Relevant Again

The other day I was watching SportsCenter and to my surprise they actually had a segment on the Oakland Raiders. I am usually skeptical of anything ESPN does on the Raiders because anytime they mention the Raiders or their fans it is in a condescending tone. However, they spent the segment interviewing quarterback Terrelle Pryor and showing some of his highlights from the preseason...

The Great Letdown: Latavius Murray Out For Season

The Oakland Raiders cannot catch a break this off-season. After losing their most important offensive player Jared Veldheer for at least six games this year, they have just put their most intriguing offensive player, Latavius Murray on injured reserve, which will keep him on the sidelines until 2014. While Murray was obviously not going to become a starter this year because of the...

How the Raiders may handle the McGloin/Wilson situation

I’ve recently given a lot of thought (from the dark side…?) to what it means that Matt McGloin has continually received more passes than 4th round pick Tyler Wilson in practices. I think that coaching staff does genuinely like McGloin but I also think that the coaches like Wilson’s long term potential. Wilson may not be exceling immediately but he has the skills to be able...

Raiders Down to 75: Murray and Hanson to IR, Burris to PUP

The Oakland Raiders completed their roster transactions in order to trim down the roster to 75 players by today, August 27th, as determined by the NFL. The Silver & Black had already cut 10 players on Sunday, in a list that included return specialist Josh Cribbs. No players have been released to reach the day’s mandatory number, as running back […]

Raiders CB jumps over car for $200

Some of the Raiders went out to celebrate Darren McFadden’s 26th birthday Tuesday night. (It looked like a swell night, BTW.) At some point of the evening cornerback Taiwan Jones was dared to jump over a car. Jones is the freak of an athlete who wasn’t even playing on defense last year and who, more notably, jumped out of a swimming pool backward once upon a time. If he completed...

Pryor makes case to become Raiders starting QB

Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor is assured a roster spot going into the last preseason game of the year. A roster spot is exactly what several players around the league are playing for, however for Pryor that is not enough. He is working to start. “Every day, I’m trying to get one percent better, and I won’t stop until I get to my goal,” Pryor said. “My goal is to be a starting...

Oakland Raiders CB Taiwan Jones jumps over car to win $200 bet

Oakland Raiders cornerback Taiwan Jones was out for runningback Darren McFadden’s birthday when he was bet $200 he couldn’t jump over a BMW.  Raiders safety Tyvon Branch recorded the jump and posted it to his Instagram page and as you can see, Jones was successful.  Good thing for Jones that the car wasn’t moving and that he was able to do it without getting injured.  I’m...

Darren McFadden hopes to remain with Raiders

The Oakland Raiders are hoping for big things from running back Darren McFadden, who is entering a contract year, this season. As such, there is some expectation that McFadden accumulates the best totals he can this year in an effort to score big on the free agent market. While there’s a chance McFadden could be playing elsewhere next season, he told CSN Bay Area that he loves...

Raiders cut Josh Cribbs

The Josh Cribbs era in Oakland didn't last long.  According to @Rotoworld_FB the Oakland Raiders have cut the former return specialist.  Cribbs has still been dealing with knee problems and has lost his explosiveness. Raiders release return specialist Josh Cribbs http://t.co/0mItZgwBgI — Rotoworld Football (@Rotoworld_FB) August 25, 2013 Cribbs struggled this preseason...

Raiders CB Taiwan Jones Jumps Over A Car To Win A Bet

The Oakland Raiders are coming out of the pre-season focused on winning. Namely, Raiders’ running back-turned-cornerback Taiwan Jones won a bet…

Darren McFadden Wants To Be A Raider For Life

Darren McFadden is entering a contract year, and the oft injured, but talented running back is just looking to put together a complete season at this point. The question now is what can we as football enthusiast, and the Raiders as McFadden’s employer for at least the next 18 weeks, expect from a running back looking to cash in. McFadden who shows flashes of greatness, followed...

Video: Taiwan Jones jumps over a car in single bound, wins bet

Oakland Raiders cornerback Taiwan Jones flies over a car in one massive jump. It's athletic, no doubt, but will it help on the field?

Terrelle Pryor, Russell Wilson comparisons aren't fair to Pryor

Comparisons between Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson should end after we mention that both are young, athletic quarterbacks capable of extending plays and buying themselves time. Boom. Done. Finished. That’s where comparisons should end, but naturally, the two quarterbacks are being compared more than ever following Terrelle Pryor...

Raiders Players Betting Each Other To Jump Over Cars

Because the leap over the car by cornerback Taiwan Jones was successful, it prevents this stunt from ranking high on most Raiders things ever, but it’s nice that he’s trying, though. The jump was recorded by Tyvon Branch, the person who bet Jones to try the jump. I could see the Jets doing the same thing, only the car is on fire and Mark Sanchez is locked in the front seat.[via]
