The Raiders are looking for complementary running backs to emerge in training camp and the preseason as they try to fill the void left by Michael Bushs departure in free agency. Oakland did not sign any notable running backs in free agency and did not use a pick on a back in the draft, leaving starter Darren McFadden without a bruising rusher to back him up for the first time in his career. McFadden has missed 19 games in his four seasons, including nine in 2011 with a Lisfranc injury. He has yet to play more than 13 games in a season the Raiders know his history of missing time and still plan to make him their bellcow in 2012. Second-year veteran Taiwan Jones has great open-field ability when he gets to the outside and will compete against Mike Goodson to spell McFadden while versatile FB Marcel Reece has a chance to prove he can handle goal-line duties.
