Terrelle Pryor is just days from the biggest start of his young professional life. That’s what the hype machine says. Monday night’s game against Denver is a chance for the young quarterback to anoint himself the next big thing and prove that his team is better than expected. If he can lead the Raiders to victory in Denver his stock will fly a mile high. ESPN would like you to come and see. Tune in for Peyton Manning stay for the new-age phenom. Pryor’s creativity gives the Raiders a puncher’s chance in this perceived mismatch. That’s a lot for a 24-year old to take in. The Raiders would rather he block it all out. They’d like him to affix blinders posthaste to ignore everything save positive yards and touchdowns. “The leaders and playmakers on this roster need to help him out. Let the young guys make plays for him and the veterans be vocal leaders. We’ve been on this stage. We’ve played in this environment. We know what it’s like and we can handle the intangibles.

Game Grades Week 2: Best, and Worst, vs Jacksonville

In the regular season opener, Terrelle Pryor made all the headlines with his stellar outing against the Colts. Last week versus the Jaguars, the quarterback didn’t have to be as impressive to secure his first win as a starter for the Oakland Raiders, as the Silver & Black used a conservative offensive game plan, rather relying on the solid overall […]

The Raiders Need to Trade for Josh Gordon

Josh Gordon (@Browns) I don’t normally condone midseason trades, but the news of the Browns hearing trade offers for Josh Gordon caught my ear. I started looking around for teams that could benefit quite well from Josh Gordon, and I believe that the Raiders are one of those teams that could actually benefit extremely well from a midseason trade like this. By now, you’ve likely...

Raiders at Broncos matchup: Peyton Manning versus Jason Tarver

The Oakland Raiders defense has been a pleasant surprise so far this season. Even more surprising is that Oakland, at least for now, is ranked in the top-10 in passing yards and rushing yards allowed according to ESPN. 3 Things the Oakland Raiders Need to Do In Order to Shock the Denver Broncos

No one is giving the Oakland Raiders much of a chance to beat the Denver Broncos on Monday night. The Raider Nation should not be surprised by all the doubters. Remember when everyone said the Raiders had one of the worst rosters in history and they would be lucky to win one game? Yeah, I think those haters are all hiding in the bushes after seeing how good the silver and black...

Raiders need Denarius Moore to shake off poor performances

After two seasons with the Oakland Raiders in which he was arguably the most dynamic playmaker for the team, Denarius Moore should have become the outright No. 1 receiver this season. Moore was among team leaders in receptions, yards and average yards per reception during his first two seasons, but the start to his 2013 campaign has been anything but noteworthy. He has only caught...

Searching for win, Pryor not out to match Manning

Oakland quarterback Terrelle Pryor has seen the scores. Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have put up 40-plus points in their first two games and made offense look easy. As Pryor heads into his fourth NFL start when the Raiders play at Denver on Monday night, Pryor knows the temptation will be to put more on his shoulders, to try to match the Broncos score for score all by himself...
