Isnt it funny how the the guy who throws for the most yards on Sunday is usually on the team that loses? In all those days the Bucs were winning football games, the Bucs were led by Trent Dilfer, Shawn King and finally Brad Johnson helped them get over the top. Remember that in these days of QB turmoil at One Buc.  In the give Schiano a chance corner, this defense has really played well this season, and although the old Bucs under Dungy would have never given up ALL of those late scores like the 2013 version did, it did give up a few of them. 2000 Jets game comes to mind. Before you say 2003 Colts on MNF...that team was a shell of its former self by that point. Josh Freeman has signed with the Vikings, and everyone is convinced he will be another in a long list of former Bucs QBs who have gone on to better days after their Bucs life is over. I don't think so, at least not long term. I can see Freeman having a good game somewhere, but he has some tough defenses in the NFC North, and the Bucs of the last 4 years may not have been playoff teams, but they were far better than the Bucs of 1986 when Steve Young played, 1991 when Chris Chandler threw, or 1992 when Vinny Testaverde was the Captain. Notice I left out Doug Williams....The 1982 team was actually a good team! Most people think back to the bad call against Bert Emanuel, or the perfect pass to Ricky Proehl that could not have been one inch either way to score, or perhaps Shawn Kings late Interception that gave the Rams the ball to get that TD pass off  as the big plays that cost the Bucs their first chance at a Super Bowl in 1999 against the Rams.  But before all of that, early in the 4th Quarter, the Bucs had a 4th and 3 from just inside the Ram 40 and completed a screen pass that got down to the Ram 16 yard line, but the play was snapped just a fraction of a second too late. Instead of first and goal at the 16 it was 4th down and too far for a Gramatica FG. Who cares about 1999? Well when you have the kind of  year like 2013 is panning out to be, you tend to wander! Early Prediction for this weekends Bucs game- I hope I am wrong, nothing would make me happier. But I see Tampa Bay team that may be giving up on their coach in the aftermath of the worst locker room drama ever unfolded at One Buc. Philadelphia 30 Tampa Bay 13. If the Bucs lose another close game, or manage to win it, with everything that has happened, that is a seriously close knit group that bears giving a chance to see what they can do with the season.  Notice how good the Cardinals played yesterday? That's been a trend. The Jets played good after week 1, the Saints have been tearing up defenses, everyone except ours. Thanks to JoeBucsFan.com for pointing it out....Opponents are 14-5 with Jets to play tonight.  What are the chances Mike Glennon is the Bucs QB of the future? Well he has no deep ball, and this offense is about running the ball and taking shots downfield. Shout out loud if you see the problem there.  Finally, some reasons the Bucs owners may fire Greg Schiano midseason rather than wait until the end... There are two coaches on the squad with prior NFL coaching experience to turn to; Dave Wannstedt is special teams coordinator and Butch Davis is on the team too. I go with Davis, whose defense is probably what the Bucs are playing anyways. Plus this season is a public relations train wreck. MRSA, Freeman, Schiano, no Tight Ends, the Glazers have already announced all the games will be on TV, showing compassion for die hard Bucs fans.       No Mark Dominik, the brass did not install seat warmers in your office this weekend. That is the heat that normally gets applied to GMs whose entire draft class from only 4 years ago is no longer with the team instead of playing in their prime. I'm not in favor of dumping Dominik, but I do think he needs help. To be fair, the drafting with Schiano has gone well. Bringing in a new Head Coach who has a background with personnel.
