Ravens safety Ed Reed, who will turn 35 next September and whose possible retirement has been overshadowed by the Ray Lewis media monster, told reporters on Thursday that he won't retire after the Super Bowl.
I'll be playing next year. Next question, Reed said.
It's good that he's being definitive because earlier in his discussion somebody asked him if this was his last ride, and Reed cryptically responded, No, I just bought a bike.
Now, the question will be: in which city will Reed be pedaling next season? The six-year, $44.4 million contract that he signed in 2006 will expire in the offseason, and you have to wonder if the Ravens will want to give him another multi-year deal.
