It was reported today that the Baltimore Ravens are looking to part ways with fullback Vonta Leach if the two sides are unable to come to a contract restructure. Leach is unlikely to take the pay cut, and it is also unlikely that a team will trade for a $3 million fullback (the amount that Leach is owed for this upcoming season). The Ravens have let Leach know that he will be either cut or traded.
Leach is one of the best lead-blockers in the game as he has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons. He made himself known back during his days with the Houston Texans when he was lead-blocking for Arian Foster and Houston’s successful running attack. Leach played a big role in Foster’s development.
“Thanks ravens organization for a great two years,” said Leach on Twitter. “I came here and did what we set out to do and that’s win the Super Bowl. My time here is up but what we accomplished, we will be forever linked. Thank the fans for accepting me and my family to Bmore.”
