PLAYERS: David Reed
TEAMS: Baltimore Ravens
Ravens wide receiver-kick returner David Reed returned to practice Monday, coming back from a torn left anterior cruciate ligament suffered last season. However, Reed remains on the physically unable to perform list. Reed has a three-week window to either rejoin the active roster or be placed on injured reserve. Reed recently emphasized that he's able to sprint, cut and run routes. "I'm right there," Reed told The Baltimore Sun. "I'm really better than ever. Everything is good. Lately, I'm feeling better than ever. I feel great. I'm ahead of schedule." Source: Baltimore Sun Attached Thumbnails

Ravens CB Williams mounts impressive salary drive

It was with no small amount of angst that Baltimore's Cary Williams declined a $15 million, three-year offer from the Ravens during the past offseason. The cornerback thought he was worth more. And lately, it's looking like Williams might be right. After playing in 42 NFL games without an interception, Williams has picked off four passes in his last five games. He leads...

Ravens LB Ayanbadejo approves of gay marriage vote

Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo is delighted Marylanders voted in favor of same sex marriage. Ayanbadejo said Wednesday, ''It's like I woke up and it's Christmas.'' Baltimore's locker room reflects society, so not all of Ayanbadejo's teammates shared his enthusiasm about the historic decision. Safety Bernard Pollard says, ''There are...

Joe Flacco Still Long Way Off From Elite Quarterback Status Due to Inconsistent Play

Joe Flacco was surely jesting this offseason when he declared himself the best quarterback in the NFL. Of course, it’s not just Flacco that’s perpetuating the myth that the Ravens’ quarterback is one of the best in the NFL. Baltimore fans and analysts alike were jumping on the Flacco bandwagon after a strong 2011 playoff display. If the hope was that Flacco would finally â...

Ray Lewis Not Expected Back In Ravens' Building In Near Future

For anyone expecting to see injured Ravens All-Pro middle linebacker Ray Lewis at practice or attending games anytime soon, they'll probably have to wait a bit longer. Placed on injured reserve-designated to return after undergoing surgery to repair his torn right triceps suffered during a 31-29 win over the Dallas Cowboys, the two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year has...

Ravens inexperienced corners are growing up in a hurry...

Cary Williams (age 27) and Jimmy Smith (age 22) have been thrust into a high-pressure role as starting cornerbacks for the Baltimore Ravens (6-2). That's largely due to the season-ending injury to Pro Bowl quality corner Lardarius Webb (ACL). But it also has a lot to do with the struggling front seven of the Ravens' defense. Giving up the run without getting substantial...

NFL Responds To Ravens Coach John Harbaugh's Injury Report Comments

The NFL appears to have moved on to other matters after Ravens coach John Harbaugh criticized the injury reporting procedures last week, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. In the wake of the Ravens being fined $20,000 by the league for failing to list free safety Ed Reed with a torn labrum in his shoulder that didn't sideline him for practices or games and Harbaugh...

RAVENS – 25  BROWNS – 15   On Sunday Baltimore continued their dominance over the Cleveland Browns. The Ravens extended their streak to 10 straight against the Browns with a 25-15 victory. This was a hard fought battle, which is what is to be expected when an AFC North showdown occurs. Both teams pounded the ball on the ground on offense and leaned heavily on their defenses...

AFC North remains a two-team race

The Baltimore Ravens are 6-2 -- and appear to be completely vulnerable. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 5-3, graying and flawed but winners of three straight after being left for dead. The state of Ohio has two AFC North teams, too. All four except the Browns are now at the midway point of their respective 2012 seasons, and after this weekend all will have played nine games. The Ravens...
