Found July 21, 2013 on Overtime:
Earlier today there was a lot made about Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo being listed 236 pounds, his heaviest since entering the league back in 2003. Romo down played the weight gain, saying that the figure wasn’t too accurate. He would go on to say that he normally weighs between 227 and 230 lbs. depending on the day. Others like head coach Jason Garrett also down played the “issue”. Cowboys Corner broke down Romo’s weight per year 2003: 227 2004: 227 2005: 219 2006: 225 2007: 224 2008: 224 2009: 226 2010: 223 2011: 227 2012: 230 2013: 236  Romo was told to do nothing following a surgery to remove a cyst on his back, so a few extra pounds would be expected. I’m sure that following the first few weeks of camp Romo will be able to drop those extra pounds, but I doubt anyone will let this go any time soon. Romo discusses his 'weighty' Cowboys issue

OXNARD, Calif. -- The Dallas Cowboys are being suspiciously coy in their discussions about the weight of quarterback Tony Romo, whose listed weight of 236 pounds is six pounds heavier than his official weight from a year ago and 17 pounds heavier than the 219 he was listed at earlier in his career. "I don't want to get into the details of what his playing weight is supposed...

Tony Romo a Little Chunky? Not At All!

Tony Romo has always been a target of criticism for so many reasons from is play to his choice of girlfriends to his golf game. At times the critique may be warranted and at other times not so much. When Romo reported to training camp Saturday he probably didn't realize how quick the 'fans' would find something to get on him about. What could it be since he just got...

Romo ramps up conditioning, makes it back for camp

Tony Romo was waiting in California when the Dallas Cowboys arrived for training camp. Romo, who didn't take a real snap in offseason workouts after signing the richest contract in franchise history, finally returned for the first training camp practices Sunday after ''uniquely running mountains'' on the West Coast. That's how owner Jerry Jones described...

Cowboys to keep informal 'pitch count' on Romo

The Cowboys will keep an informal "pitch count" on quarterback Tony Romo's throws in training, coach Jason Garrett said Saturday. Romo did not participate in any off-season work after having surgery in April to remove a cyst on his back. Romo, who has been working out on his own to stay in shape, was cleared to return to practice at the start of training camp. However...

Cowboys plan on having Tony Romo on an informal “pitch count”

According to Carlos Mendez of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Dallas Cowboys will keep an eye on how many throws quarterback Tony Romo makes during training camp. “It’s more communication – ‘How you feeling?’ – and also, you look at the ball,” head coach Jason Garrett said Saturday in Oxnard, Calif., where the Cowboys are getting ready for their first practice on...

Tony Romo’s Weight Is Not A Concern For Cowboys

Yesterday social media and the Cowboys haters and lovers around the world were in an uproar over the news that Tony Romo reported to camp weighting 236 pounds.  Romo of course put on a little weight after having surgery last month to remove a cyst from his back.  Surgery or not, that didn’t stop his critics from coming out in full force. Romo nor the Cowboys are worried about...

Romo will be on an informal 'pitch count' for his throws in training camp

The Cowboys will keep an eye on how much quarterback Tony Romo throws in training camp, although they won’t have a “pitch count” for him. “It’s more communication – ‘How you feeling?’ – and also, you look at the ball,” head coach Jason Garrett said Saturday in Oxnard, Calif., where the Cowboys are getting ready for their first practice on Sunday. “Does the...

Tony Romo Enters Camp at Heaviest He’s Ever Been, Cowboys Don’t Seem Concerned

The star quarterback showed up at Cowboys camp on Sunday, weighing just a little bit heavier than in past seasons in this year’s media guide. The team listed Romo at 236 pounds on this year’s camp weigh-in, six pounds heavier than last season. Romo entered the 2012 season at 230 pounds, which at the time was also the...
