Florida coach Will Muschamp keeps saying recruiting is going great. The three major recruiting websites agree with him.
The Gators have 18 players committed for the upcoming signing class, including six that are enrolled and on campus. Rivals.com ranks that group No. 3 in the country (behind Alabama and Texas), Scout.com has it No. 5 and ESPN places it at No. 4.
Florida could get a boost from solidifying its offensive coordinator spot with the hiring of Brent Pease. Pease is not a big name like Charlie Weis was, but he has a strong résumé and he will have time to make connections before national signing day (Feb. 1).
“Anytime you’re in this late stage of recruiting, any question marks or any issues you need to address and now we’ve addressed it,” Muschamp said Wednesday. “I think any recruit and any player at the University of Florida ought to be excited about who we hired and where we’re headed with this thing.”
