Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the dirtiest players in the National Football League.
Meriweather could only watch Sunday as the Redskins lost 45-21 to the Denver Broncos while he served a one-game suspension. The league suspended Meriweather after multiple violations of player safety rules pertaining to helmet-to-helmet shots on defenseless players in the Redskins’ 45-41 win over the Chicago Bears in Week 7. This wasn’t the first time the league took disciplinary action against the hard-hitting safety this year. Meriweather was fined following a hit on Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy in Week 2. Lacy suffered a concussion from the hit and would not return to the game.
After serving his one-game suspension, Meriweather made some disturbing comments when asked if he would change his style of play.
