Just a week after saying that quarterback Robert Griffin III has been slowed down by the bulk of his protective knee brace, Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon now says that Griffin is "not fully healthy, obviously", according to the Washington Post.“He’s running a little bit more. But last year’s RGIII was a lot different from this year’s RG because of his knee. It’s not surprising. We’ve been talking about it the whole offseason. It’s the same question every day on Monday. We can find something else to talk about" Garcon said on Monday. In an attempt to kick start the offense, the Redskins let Griffin call his own number a lot more in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Detroit Lions. RGIII looked a lot better running the football, rushing for 37 yards on six carries. Griffin had one run that was reminiscent of his rookie season, but he fumbled at the end of the run after diving head first. He also completed 32 of 50 passes for 326 yards and was intercepted once.Although the Redskins have lost their third straight game Sunday, Griffin has made great progress in getting reacquainted with full speed game action again after tearing his ACL in the wild card round of the playoffs last January. RGIII no longer looks afraid to run with the football, and it appears that Griffin has rediscovered the burst of speed that makes him such a dangerous player.Follow @TheNFLInjuryRpt Looking for fantasy football advice?Follow Chris Hecker on Twitter: @HeckDynasty

Virginia CVS Pharmacy zings Washington Redskins with Kleenex sale sign (pic)

The weekend in NFL stupidity

Some seriously stupid things happened in the stupid but awesome NFL this past weekend. Let's summarize... The stupidest fumble-related rule Robert Griffin III was driving the Washington Redskins down the field in the fourth quarter when he slid awkwardly after clearly giving himself up at the end of a first-down run. He fumbled and hadn't been touched, so the turnover...

Virginia CVS Advertises Tissue Sale, Tells Redskins Fans to Stock Up in Case Team Doesn’t Get Better (Photo)

Redskins fans thought for sure that their fortunes were changing in 2012, when the arrival of Robert Griffin III ushered in a 10-6 season and a playoff berth, the first winning season and playoff appearance since 2007. Just three games into the 2013 campaign, though, Washington supporters are already doubting the ability of the team and sinking into the doldrums — and the local...

Garcon says Griffin is ‘a lot different’ as a player than last season

Wide receiver Pierre Garcon said Monday that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is “obviously” not completely healthy and is “a lot different” as a player than he was last season as a rookie. For a second straight week Garcon spoke candidly about Griffin’s play as the quarterback returns from knee surgery in January. “He’s not fully healthy obviously”...

RG3 reportedly wanted to get away from running the read-option

During today’s show on ESPN’s First Take,  analyst Skip Bayless mentioned that a Redskins insider claims that Robert Griffin III told the coaching staff that he wants to get away from read-option this season because he believes he can be as good of a pass as  Peyton Manning. It certainly looks like the Skins have abandoned the read-option for the most part.  If Griffin did...

Dick Stockton refers to RG3 as “Robert Griffin Jr” during broadcast

You would think that a player who is as well known as Robert Griffin III wouldn’t get his name wrong during a broadcast, but Fox’s Dick Stockton called him “Robert Griffin Jr.”  Not sure why or how this happened, but a surprising mistake nonetheless.

Fred Smoot Blasts the Red Lobster and the Brat (aka Mike Shanahan and Robert Griffin III)

The season is not going according to plan for the Washington Redskins. After a 0-3 start the boo-birds and haters are coming out of the woodwork faster than politicians when a lobbyist  is  offering  free dinner. One of the latest to join in on the hate parade was former defensive back Fred Smoot. And he got a little creative. While making a recent radio appearance...

Nightmare start to RGIII, Washington’s season

For Robert Griffin III, or RGIII because Federal law now mandates you must always refer to him as RGIII and only RGIII, and the Washington NFL team, the first three weeks have been a nightmare. An 0-3 start, and a horrific defense that got shredded by Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions yesterday. Stafford, who put up nearly four bills passing on them, isn’t the only one...

Lions rally, drop RGIII, 'Skins

Robert Griffin III went head-first instead of sliding, so when the ball popped out it was a fumble. Aldrick Robinson had a touchdown catch in his hands, but he couldn't quite maintain possession as he hit the ground in the end zone. Thanks to the turf, the Detroit Lions ended 74 years of failure in the nation's capital. The pair of fourth-quarter bobbles sent the Lions...

Former Redskin calls RG3 a "brat", Shanahan a "red lobster"

Fred Smoot provided a harsh assessment of Robert Griffin III during a radio interview on Monday, and he also introduced us to a great new nickname for Mike Shanahan. Smoot, who is a humorous guy and does not mince words, said during an hour-long appearance with Holden and Danny on 106.7 The Fan in DC […]

Washington Redskins vs. Detroit Lions Recap

Once again, the Washington Redskins proved to disappoint in this afternoon’s game against the Detroit Lions. Over the course of their first three games, the Redskins have looked overmatched on offense, defense, and special teams. At 0-3, fans are already beginning to wonder if this year is going to be over before it truly starts. Robert Griffin III’s knee injury is beginning...

RG3 is Learning The Gift & The Curse of Celebrity & Skiptized Media

There are NFL stars and then there are STARS. It has nothing to do with what is happening on the field, but everything to do what is going on off the field.  Once your own field celebrity crosses over into mainstream celebrity the opportunities that are afforded to you are plentiful.  In life though there is always a trade off for such riches and that is what Robert Griffin III...
