The RG3 era has officially begun in Washington D.C and already his confidence is being translated to his teammates. Its one thing for Robert Griffith III to have a big game, but when the team steps up and beat a powerhouse New Orleans Saints team, one has to take notice. One person is Redskins running back Alfred Morris, a 2012 6th round draft pick and who coincidentally was making his first start as well. You know what they say about not having enough experience to understand the moment; but don't tell that to Morris. He knows the importance of the upset win.

“It was great. Definitely a hostile environment. We was able to get up on them early and to make the crowd a non-factor in a sense, but it was definitely a sight and definitely went out there and had fun. I always do.”

“My coach told me Saturday at the team meeting. He said, ‘You are going to be starting. Are you ready?’ I was like yes sir. He was like, ‘You deserved it.’ I thanked him for it.”

“We definitely have to keep working hard and continue. It’s only one game. It does count, but it’s only one game. We got a long road ahead of us and pretty much what we said before the game and after the game is we didn’t come here just to play. We didn’t come here to just show up and to play good. We came to win and that’s exactly what we did. That was huge on that stage and in the Saints backyard.”

Madden: RG3 is a "Tebow who can pass"

John Madden thinks pretty highly of Robert Griffin III, comparing him favorably to Tim Tebow.

What Does the Big Win in the Big Easy Mean for the Redskins?

Even though I picked the Saints to win this one I was right about something. I said, unlike many so-called experts, that the Redskins could win this game and if they won the turnover battle they'd win the game. Well guess who won the turnover battle. Here's a hint, it wasn't the Saints. With 3:18 to go in the game the Skins held a 16 point lead over the defending...

Pierre Garcon believes he’ll play next week

Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon believes he’ll be ready to go next week against the Rams after suffering a right foot injury that forced him to miss rest of Sunday’s win over the Saints. “I’m feeling good. Should be good to go next week,” Garcon said. “We’ll get it checked on, I’ll be ready back for St. Louis.” Garcon was a great free agent acquisition...

Robert Griffin III's Impressive Debut Includes Evolution of New Celebration Called 'Griffining' (Photos)

Prepare to be annoyed. For those of you who despise the whole "Tebowing" concept, a new phenomenon could soon bug you this football season. It's apparently called "Griffining." Robert Griffin III was impressive in his first career NFL start for the Redskins on Sunday, and among his many nifty plays was an 88-yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. RGIII actually...

Redskins' Bernstine out for year with knee injury

Washington Redskins rookie safety Jordan Bernstine is out for the season with torn ligaments in his right knee. Bernstine was injured on a kickoff in the fourth quarter of Washington's 40-32 win over the New Orleans Saints. Bernstine was a seventh-round draft pick this year. His injury is another blow to an already depleted secondary. Brandon Meriweather is sidelined with sprained...

Mike Shanahan says Alfred Morris is their starting running back

According to Rich Tandler of Comcast Sports Net, Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has stated that running back Alfred Morris is their starter going forward. Shanahan: “Alfred right now is our starting running back.” — Rich Tandler (@Rich_Tandler) September 10, 2012 Morris was very impressive during Sunday’s big win over the Saints.

Washington Redskins: Week 2 Power Rankings (#16)

Last week: 16 (+0) Record: 1-0 There isn’t much that needs to be said. The Redskins went into New Orleans with a rookie quarterback and beat a Saints team that was undefeated at home last year. The defense is a bit of a concern, but then again, they were playing Drew Brees, and any potential Robert Griffin week to week inconsistencies are also a concern and very possible because...

Robert Griffin III Lives Up to Hype; Redskins and Eagles' Defenses Stout

RGIII stunned the Saints in his debut for the Redskins, and the Eagles need 4th quarter magic to beat the Browns. CHFF's Justin Henry breaks it down.

Steve Mariucci on Robert Griffin III: “Most Athletic QB Ever”

Calm down...

Sell High on RG3

No doubt about it—Robert Griffin III started his career with a bang on Sunday, with 320 yards, 2 TD passes with no interceptions, and 10 rushes for 48 yards (the gaudy fantasy stats), not to mention a 73% completion percentage, a 139.9 QB rating and most importantly, a win. The start (and the hype) remind me of a quarterback that I doubted coming into the league last year, and...

RG3 makes history with player of the week honor

One of the more compelling storylines from Week One was the impressive debut of Robert Griffin III. The Heisman Trophy winning quarterback and No. 2 overall pick led the Redskins to a surprising road upset of the favored Saints. In fact, it was more than impressive. It was historic in more than one way. On Wednesday, the NFL announced that Griffin is the NFC offensive player of the...

Redskins Victorious, Deliver Saints 1st Home Loss in Forever

Hail Victory Washington Redskins – 40 New Orleans Saints – 32 HTTR By now I am sure you are aware that the Washington Redskins went marching into Saints territory and did something that no team was able to do last year — win in New Orleans — and did it in a rather strong fashion. The much anticipated debut of Robert Griffin III lived up to everyone in Redskins Nation’s...

Mike Shanahan to Redskins, Curb your enthusiasm over Saints win

Mike Shanahan must take his team down a peg or two to prepare the Washington Redskins for the Saint Louis Rams. That's where those underpaid quality control assistants (and future NFL coaches) come in handy. They've charted all the player performances and organized them by down and distance for the coach who can now deliver this message to the team – you weren't that...

And Here Come The RG3 Rap Tributes

The Redskins beat the Saints 40-32 on Sunday, and in NFL fan terms that means “the Redskins are going to have a great season and win the Superbowl”, so here’s the first of what I assume will be an absolute deluge of RG3 rap tributes. This one is from “Money M.I.C.” and features a burning Troy Aikman jersey. Because, you know, that’s timely. (via Outside The Boxscore...
