With safety Brandon Meriweather going to the injured reserve the Redskins have signed 25 year old defensive back Jerome Murphy to take his roster spot. Murphy played his college ball at South Florida where he started 25 games for the Bulls and registered eight interceptions. Murphy was drafted in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Rams. This year, Murphy was cut by the Rams during final roster cuts on September 1, but was signed immediately by the Saints.
