FLORHAM PARK–By all accounts, this week’s practices have been a lot more productive than the ones the team had last year coming off the bye week. The team had some live hitting drills on Wednesday and, across the board, Rex Ryan and his players feel good about what they’ve done so far.
Mark Sanchez said last year that the practices weren’t good and “it showed on Sunday.” As for this year, “This week’s prep has already surpassed what we did last year,” he said.
Darrelle Revis said that the secondary has been doing extra tackling drills after practice for a while now, because, “We were missing tackles,” he said with a laugh. They’ve been working with dummy bags and hope that by keeping their tackling and fundamentals sharp, they won’t have a similar backslide the way they did last year, or repeat their mistakes from earlier this year.
