Whenever the fourth of July comes around for me, the thought of Steve McNair passing is never forgotten.The events surrounding his death are a tragedy within a tragedy. However, the melancholy nature of his departure from this earth is not the focus of this editorial. Rather the focus is on "Air McNair" himself the football player instead of the man.He was the third overall selection in the 1995 NFL draft, out of then division I-AA Alcorn State University by the Houston Oilers ( now Tennessee Titans). He had a brilliant collegiate career throwing for over 6,000 yards in his senior season and 53 touchdowns. He finished at Alcorn State with 14,496 passing yards and 16,283 total yards.The first things that come to mind, when thinking about McNair as a pro was his moxie, and toughness.
