At Radio Row on Friday, Renaldo Wynn was a guest on the Mike Meltser & Seth Payne on SportsRadio 610′s MaD Radio, and shared some surprising information about his time with current St. Louis Rams DC Gregg Williams. (Per CBSHouston)
Payne and Wynn played with each other in Jacksonville when the Jaguars were relevant and came within one win of Super Bowl appearance in 1999. Wynn's reason why they didn't get to the big game came as quite as surprise to the hosts.
The Jaguars lost the AFC Championship game that year to the Tennessee Titans and Williams was their DC at the time. “You know why we fell short in that AFC Championship game? After that I ended up getting coached by Gregg Williams. And Greg Williams was, at the time, defensive coordinator by the Tennessee Titans,” Wynn told Payne & Meltser “First thing he said when he came in the door was ‘Hey, you know why you lost?’ With a lot of other explicit words with that. He said he had our play book. Greg Williams had our play book. Our game-plan on offense. [He] had our playbook.”
He went further, saying “I know how he got them; He started getting playbooks when I was with him.” Wynn didn't elaborate on how Williams obtained the playbooks.
“I’m sorry Gregg, I had to put you out there,” Wynn said at the end of the interview. “You can’t go no lower than what you’ve been already.”
