The Georgia Dome.
Negotiations between the Atlanta Falcons and Georgia World Congress Center on a new facility to replace the aging Georgia Dome are continuing. The new building would be the future home for the Atlanta Falcons, and presumably that of the SEC Championship Game, Chick-fil-A Bowl, Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, and other college football and basketball-related events.
While the estimated cost of the proposed project is supposed to be $948 million, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed says if improvements to the area around the project were added in, the cost could possibly rise to $1.2 billion.
"Reed did not say the cost of the stadium itself would rise above an
architect’s estimate of $948 million — money to be raised by the state
and the Falcons. But Reed said a variety of upgrades to sidewalks, roads
and other amenities could boost the project price to the larger total.

Their offense was as advertised as they put up 40 on the Chiefs in Kansas City, though the Chiefs were missing their top two defenders. Speaking of missing defenders, the Falcons will be without top cornerback Brent Grimes for the entire season with a torn Achilles, which puts a damper on an otherwise good day for Falcons fans as they won on the road...

When you play quarterback in the NFL, it’s probably pretty hard to actually pay for a meal. Check out Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan & legendary Tight End Tony Gonzalez getting a tour of the kitchen at Kyma restaurant in Atlanta — They also sat down for a meal, which by the way, was completely comped. What a life.-TO

With former Pro Bowl cornerback Brent Grimes out for the season, the Atlanta Falcons are counting on four career backups to fill the void.
Losing Grimes to a torn Achilles tendon means the Falcons must face Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos on Monday night without their best cornerback.

Atlanta cornerback Brent Grimes, a 2010 Pro-Bowler whom the Falcons
used their franchise tag upon this past offseason, was placed on
the injured reserve list and will miss the rest of the season, head
coach Mike Smith said on Monday.
The Falcons opened their 2012 regular season strongly with a 40-24 thumping of the Kansas City Chiefs on the road. It was the first opening day win for Mike Smith on the road in his tenure, and the third time in five seasons that the Falcons have begun their season with a win.
Matt Ryan had an excellent game, completing 23 of 31 passes for 299 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also...
Now that the dust has settled from the Week 1 and every NFL team has a regular season game under the belts, the business of the season can truly begin.I understand the special part of opening weekend for many fans, but at the same point, I believe that too much emphasis is put upon what happens the first time a team put on pads for the regular season. A win suddenly gives credence...
Final Score: 40-24 Falcons. And yes, Tony Gonzalez did find the end zone.
One of the few games I had a feel for this weekend, the Falcons went into Arrowhead and their high powered offense was almost on full display for their Week 1 showcase. The only reason it wasn’t on full display is because the running game (outside of a Matt Ryan rushing touchdown) was basically nonexistent...
Matt Ryan looked elite on Sunday as is ranked no.5 in this week’s FantasyPPR.com quarterback rankings.
Week one of the fantasy football season is in the books and either your team is off to a 1-0 start or you are staring 0-2 in the face. So believe it or not, it is a critical time in the fantasy season because no matter how you slice it, in a 13 or 14 game season, an...
