As if their six-game losing streak wasn’t bad enough, the Cincinnati Bengals may have to deal with finding a new kicker now that Mike Nugent may be done for the season with a knee injury. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Nugent injured his knee during an onside kick in Sunday’s 23-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He was carried to the sidelines by his teammates and seen with crutches in the locker room following the game. The report also indicates how Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said the injury “doesn’t look good.” If Nugent is in fact done for the season, it would be a major blow for the Bengals on special teams considering how impressive he’s been so far in 2010. Nugent was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September after connecting on all eight of his field goal attempts—including two attempts from beyond 50 yards.
