As expected, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib was indicted on Friday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a report from NFL.com. Talib was arrested in March after police claimed he fired shots at his sister’s boyfriend, Shannon Billings, in Texas. Despite the indicment, Talib’s lawyers have made it clear that the troubled cornerback has not officially been convicted of the crime just yet. “The grand jury was not privy to a number of important facts,” Talib’s lawyers released in a statement Friday. “We are very confident that once we have the opportunity to present all of the facts, this matter will be resolved in Mr. Talib’s favor. Aqib looks forward to putting this matter behind him and returning to the game of football.” Once the lockout ends, the Buccaneers will have to decide whether or not it’s worth keeping Talib on board for the 2011 season considering this recent indictment is just one of a few incidents he’s been involved wi...
