Last month, Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib was arrested after police claimed he fired gun shots at his sister’s boyfriend. While nothing can be officially done by the team until the lockout comes to an end, it appears his career in Tampa Bay is over. According to Rick Stroud of the St. Petersburg Times, the Buccaneers are expected to release Talib once teams are eligible to make transactions. Talib has already been involved with numerous incidents–both on and off the field–and his recent involvement with the shootings was seen as the final chance by the organization. Since being drafted in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft, Talib was considered one of the top shutdown cornerbacks in the NFL and has recorded 15 interceptions over his first three seasons–including six in 2010.
