NFL Trade Rumors:
Jason La Canfora was first to report that the Arizona Cardinals have agreed to trade LT Levi Brown to the Steelers.
Pro Football Talk reports that it’s a “done deal” pending a physical.
Jason La Canfora is “hearing” that the Cardinals will receive a “late-round pick” for Brown.
Brian McIntyre notes that Brown will make $3.6 million in base salary for the remainder of the 2013 season.
This is an indication that the Steelers still believe they can turn their season around despite starting off 0-4. Brown, 29, was taken with the No. 5 overall pick a number of years ago, but has failed to live up to his draft status. He’s under contract through the 2016 season.
It’s interesting because the Cardinals could arguably use help at left tackle, as their overall offensive line has struggled this season. Meanwhile, the Ravens just traded for Eugene Monroe Tuesday night.

Trade for Steelers: The Steelers clearly need left tackle help. 2012 2nd round pick Mike Adams is bombing in his first chance as a full-time starter. Only Atlanta’s tackles, Sam Baker and Lamar Holmes, have graded out worse than Adams on ProFootballFocus this season. However, Brown isn’t a significant upgrade. He currently ranks just 10 spots higher than Adams, 60th out of 72...

The better it sounds, the less optimistic I am that this deal will make much of a difference.
When it was reported that the Pittsburgh Steelers traded with the Arizona Cardinals for the services of left tackle Levi Brown, I was not entirely sure what to think. Was this a move to acquire a new left tackle? Was Mike Adams doing such a poor job that the team felt he...
