Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that the Dallas Cowboys are no longer sold on the idea of DeMarco Murray being their franchise and have already held discussions regarding their options at the position. According to Rapoport, the Cowboys could look to make a move at the upcoming trade deadline. Murray, 25, suffered a knee sprain last weekend and is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Eagles. In his first two seasons in the league, Murray has missed nine games, so although he’s looked pretty good at times, it’s hard to rely on a guy who hasn’t been able to stay in the lineup. Murray has tallied a pretty good yards-per-carry figure over the course of his career, but this could be an indication the Cowboys would prefer to implement a two-back system moving forward. Speculative running back options could include Lions RB Mikel LeShoure and Jaguars veteran Maurice Jones-Drew, as their names have come up in trade rumors in the past few weeks.
