The Detroit Lions traded Jerome Harrison and a seventh-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles before Tuesday’s dealine–but the deal fell through after Harrison failed his physical with the Eagles. Now, it appears the failed trade may have been a blessing in disguise for Harrison after news broke on Thursday that the running back has a brain tumor that may not have been found right away if it wasn’t for the Lions attempting a trade.

“Without trade, Jerome Harrison doesn’t get physical. Without physical, doctors don’t find brain tumor. Trade might have saved his life.”
They say everything in life happens for a reason and to think what would have happened if these two teams never attempted to work out a deal is simply beyond unbelievable to think about. Thoughts and prayers go out to Harrison and his family during this difficult time.
