It is about the most ideal situation for the Philadelphia Eagles that would make absolutely zero sense if the report by Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune would not occur. Current St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is most certainly days away from being released of his duties after sustaining yet another disappointing season and is currently at 2-13 for this 2011 season. Juan Castillo on the other hand is also on the cusp of being fired, or demoted, despite his defense playing excellent football these past three weeks.
Spagnuolo has deeply entrenched roots within the Eagles organization serving as the teams linebackers and defensive backs coach for eight seasons (1999-06). During that time he spent a great deal of time with the late (and great) Jim Johnson learning his defensive philosophy.
