Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly, suspended by the NFL since 2010 until he was recently reinstated, is planning to join the team for offseason conditioning this week, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The Journal Sentinel, citing a source familiar with the situation, says Jolly, 30, could arrive in Green Bay as early as Tuesday to begin workouts, which started Monday for the rest of the team. Jolly was reinstated by the league in March, and the Packers restructured his contract from 2.5 million to 715,000 shortly after. He had been suspended indefinitely by the NFL following several arrests, including one for possession of codeine. He served the first six months of a six-year sentence in a Texas prison before being released in May 2012 on 10 years of shock probation. Jolly, a 2006 sixth-round pick, started in all 32 of the Packers' games in 2008 and '09 but hasn't played in an NFL game since the 2009 season, his best in the league. The Packers are short on defensive linemen with 2012 second-round pick Jerel Worthy expected to miss part or all of the season recovering from a torn ACL.
