Last week, a trade between the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions fell through after running back Jerome Harrison failed a physical after doctors discovered a brain tumor. The voided trade may have saved the running back’s life considering this whole situation was a blessing in disguise and after having emergency surgery on Friday, it looks like Harrison is going to be just fine.
According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, doctors believe Harrison’s surgery “went well” and all of the tumor was removed. Harrison complained of headaches during his physical in Philadelphia last Wednesday and the tumor was found after doctors ordered the running back to get an MRI as a safety precaution.
Harrison played in four games for the Lions this season and was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list after the tumor was discovered last week. Thoughts and prayers go out to Harrison and his family as he recovers from this surgery.
