Talk about a story coming out of nowhere. Mark Florio writes that for the Darrelle Revis trade to happen, a quarterback on the roster may have to be traded along with him.  Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the discussions between the Jets and Bucs have included the possibility of the Buccaneers assuming the contract of quarterback Mark Sanchez. Yes, Sanchez.  He has a guaranteed base salary of $8.25 million for 2013.  If he didn’t,  Sanchez would have been cut by now.  If the Jets could unload that obligation, they’d surely jump at the chance. The story may very well be true. In fact, it makes it more of a reality since this deal is not done since the Buccaneers may not be looking for Sanchez. Re: @profootballtalk report on Sanchez coming up in TB-NYJ talks about Revis, the Bucs aren’t taking Sanchez. No shot. — Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) April 12, 2013 Now the above doesn’t seem to be from someone “with knowledge of the situation.” Perhaps it’s simply Garafolo’s opinion. But what if there is a remote chance the Bucs have considered it? This adds another wrinkle to the potential deal. Could this be the real reason why the Bucs have been freeing up cap space? Stay tuned… The post Report: Mark Sanchez included in Darrelle Revis talks appeared first on The Bay Cave.
