NFL Trade Rumors:
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that it’s becoming “increasingly likely” that the NFL will implement a draft format for future Pro Bowls.
Here are some of the earlier details included in the NFLPA’s proposal:
The Pro Bowl voting system of fan and team selections would likely remain intact.
Team captains or other parties would select players.
“Very likely” to be aired on a primetime televised selection show.
The 2014 game will still be played in Hawaii.
La Canfora adds that the idea continues to “generate positive momentum” and there are “no dissenting voices” regarding the matter.
The league is hoping to have the details sorted out following the upcoming draft, but are reportedly to dedicating “significant time and resources” to idea.
Who knows if these changes will translate to a better product on the field, but it sounds at least somewhat interesting in my opinion.

Jason La Canfora doesn’t have any doubt that West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith will be taken in the top-five of this month’s NFL draft.
Geno Smith will be a top-five draft pick. There isn’t any doubt about it.
In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him go in the top three. Specifically, to Jacksonville second overall.
I agree with La Canfora. With the NFL being...
The NFL has been looking at new ways to generate interest for the Pro Bowl. Personally, this is a “game” I care very little for and very rarely ever watch. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason LaCanfora reported on Thursday that the NFL is suggesting changes to the method which players are selected on the two rosters. A draft, likely televised in primetime, is something the league is...
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports writes that West Virginia QB Geno Smith will end up being a top-five pick and “there isn’t any doubt about it.“
La Canfora mentions that is wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get drafted by the Jaguars at No. 2 overall. He also adds that he’s not buying the idea that the Raiders, Cardinals and Bills are no longer considering taking...
Jason La Canfora is reporting that the Panthers have agreed to terms with former Giants WR Domenik Hixon.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Hixon has agreed to a one-year deal.
Hixon reportedly had interest from the Lions, Browns and Raiders before signing with Carolina. He recently met with the team earlier in the week, but left with a contract.
The Panthers have been in need...
According to Jason La Canfora from CBS Sports, wide receiver Domenik Hixon has agreed to a one-year contract with the Panthers.Fantasy Spin:It was easy for Eli Manning to forget about Hixon with Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz around in New York. Carolina should be a much friendlier fantasy setting for the 28-year-old.
The annual NFL All-Star game, referred to as the Pro Bowl, has received its fair share of criticism over the years. From fans complaining that the game is simply pointless to players giving half-hearted efforts, the Pro Bowl has been less than ideal for the NFL. With recent talks of possibly canceling the game all together, there may be one last hope.
According to reports, the Pro...
