According to PackersNews.com, it sounds like the Green Bay Packers will be bringing back tight end Jermichael Finley for the 2013 season.
He started 2012 poorly, was plagued by an inordinate number of dropped passes, and by halfway through the season appeared in jeopardy getting released in the offseason because of a contract that is paying him like an elite tight end. But he drastically cut his drops later in the season and in the final seven regular-season caught 32 passes for 391 yards.
Coach Mike McCarthy in his season-ending press conference Tuesday endorsed Finley to a degree that almost certainly means the tight end will be back next season.
“I really felt Jermichael Finley was a different man, a different player from the bye week on,” McCarthy said. “I had an opportunity to talk to him about that at length in his exit interview, so I feel very good about the way he finished the year. He did some good things Saturday night (at San Francisco). There was a change in that young...

Free agent, Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers, only played in a total of eight games during the 2012 season but there sure seems to be a ton of hype surrounding the potential free agent.

Is Mike McCarthy becoming so stubborn he’s hurting his own team?
Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has many admirable qualities, both as a head coach and as a person.
One such quality is that he is incredibly loyal. McCarthy has stood by his coaches and his players when someone’s ability or dedication has been called into question. That is something so many people...
Lovie Smith and the 4-3 defense for the Packers? I don’t think so.
There has been a lot of talk among Green Bay Packers fans regarding Dom Capers and his future as the team’s defensive coordinator. Saturday’s postseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers was the anvil that broke the camel’s back after a 2011 season of defensive agony, despite their overall improvement in 2012...
According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, tight end Jermichael Finley is expected to be back with the Packers next season.Fantasy Spin:Finley received a vote of confidence from head coach Mike McCarthy earlier in the week. GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Packers seem like a team that could be making a habit out of trips to the Super Bowl. Armed with the NFL's reigning Most Valuable Player at quarterback, a talented group of wide receivers, an elite pass-rusher in Clay Matthews and a young core built through the draft, Green Bay's roster has most of the important pieces needed to attain that level of...
After his team got torched by the 49ers’ read-option last week, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he doesn’t believe it will last long.
“I think the league is cyclical and things can come back around that were being used 20, 30 years ago. But this too will pass,” Rodgers said on his weekly radio show on 540 ESPN and ESPNWisconsin.com on Tuesday. “Some of...
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he will not play in this year's Pro Bowl because of multiple injuries, according to ESPN Milwaukee's Jason Wilde.
Rodgers certainly deserved the honor, completing 67.2 percent of his passes for 4,295 yards, 39 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading his team to the NFC North title and the divisional playoffs.
After a disappointing playoff loss last Saturday to the 49ers, the Green Bay Packers need to evaluate the direction their defense is headed in under Dom Capers.
The Packers defense gave up almost 600 yards to the 49ers offense, which is completely uncalled for.
During his closing press conference, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy was asked about Capers’ future.
McCarthy said it...
