The Patriots may be doing their best to look relaxed and disinterested in the thick of the NFL combine and offseason planning, but the team showed this week that not all is as calm as it appears. With franchise tags and free agent choices approaching quickly, things could really start to shake up soon. Tom Brady‘s contract extension Monday woke New England from its offseason snooze, and Greg Bedard of The Boston Globe reports that other moves are likely in order, according to what he’s learned from league sources. Bedard predicts that, of the three big names for the Patriots as they face offseason roster-building — Wes Welker, Aqib Talib and Sebastian Vollmer — two can be expected back, and the Patriots can also be expected to make a run in free agency for several veteran defensive players.
