After playing in the United Football League, quarterback Daunte Culpepper wants to return to the NFL.
"He badly wants back in," Jason LaCanfora said on NFL Network's NFL Total Access.
"He hasn't been able to get much feedback from NFL teams to this point, but he says he's more than willing to go and work out for anyone to come in and basically just try out. He just wants an opportunity to prove he can be one of the 96 quarterbacks in the league whether that means a No. 3 or a No. 2."
Teams in need of a veteran presence at quarterback include the Carolina Panthers and Miami Dolphins, among others.
Last season, Culpepper signed a contract with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the UFL.
Culpepper was unable to unseat top overall pick Matthew Stafford for the Detroit Lions' starting gig in 2009. He appeared in eight games while Stafford was injured, tossing three touchdowns and six interceptions.
