The Raiders have been looking to lock up several players to contract extensions. They got kicker Sebastian Janikowski and long snapper John Condo. Now they're trying to lure in Darren McFadden and secure his rights but the running back reportedly isn't biting. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapaport the Raiders “checked in” with McFadden’s representatives about an extension but the rusher hopes this season’s performance improves his market value.

The Oakland Raiders selected RB Darren McFadden with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft. McFadden is entering the final year of his rookie contract and a report this evening suggests that the Raiders organization has reached out about a contract extension. Murray, Butler, and Casey: Oakland Raiders Find Diamonds in the Rough

The national media has been ridiculing the Oakland Raiders because of the lack of big names on their current roster. What the national media doesn’t realize is that the general manager Reggie McKenzie has a keen eye for talent. A few of these late round and undrafted gems had big games for the Raiders tonight against the Cowboys. 6th round pick Latavius Murray has probably been...

Matt McGloin Continues To Impress

Undrafted rookie free agent Matt McGloin looked like a grizzled veteran in his first professional football game for the Oakland Raiders. The scrappy Scranton kid looked light years ahead of fellow rookie Tyler Wilson and if the trend continues Reggie McKenzie will have no choice but to keep McGloin on the 53 man roster. The former walk-on at Penn State was not even invited to the...

Terrelle Pryor pretty impressive tonight

Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor was pretty impressive during tonight’s game against the Cowboys. He looked more comfortable in the pocket whiling flashing some poise and confidence throwing the football.  His throwing motion also looked better than it ever has. Pryor led the Raiders down the field on a few impressive drives.  One ended after he threw an interception in the...

Raiders rookie Sio Moore impresses early

At 6-foot-1, 240 pounds, Oakland rookie linebacker Sio Moore is far from an ideal matchup to put his hand down and rush against a 300-plus pound NFL offensive tackle. Moore is not one to back away from any challenge and relishes the role the Raiders are using him in for certain passing situations. A third-round pick from Connecticut who immediately proclaimed he was the best linebacker...

Raiders fans went to the Coliseum or tuned in (tape-delayed of course) Friday night to get a look at new starting quarterback Matt Flynn root for their favorite in backup Terrelle Pryor and try to put names to faces on the defensive side of the ball. They walked away though talking about the dynamic Matt McGloin-to-Brice Butler connection. The undrafted quarterback from Penn State...

Raiders Open 2013 with a Victory over the Cowboys

The Oakland Raiders made their 2013 debut under the bright lights of the O.Co Coliseum, achieving their first win of the year, against the Dallas Cowboys, with a final score of 19 to 17. With several consistent drives that lacked execution after going deep into the enemy’s territory, the Silver & Black paved the way to victory with four field […]

With the Raiders first pre-season game in the books, TFDS looks at what good and bad came from the game: The Good -Brice Butler: We’ll start with the play of the game, a 30 yard finger-tip TD snag by rookie WR Brice Butler that gave the Raiders the go-ahead points. Butler had had a good drive even before the long TD. He had caught a deep pass on a crossing route and been...
