This is becoming a serious and unwelcome trend in the NFL. After a Buffalo Bills fan fell from the upper deck at Ralph Wilson Stadium last Sunday, two more fans suffered similar falls on Sunday. One took place in Oakland, where a man was injured after bracing the fall of a woman dropping from the third deck at O.Co Stadium. The other happened in Baltimore, where a 48-year-old man fell in the upper deck at M&T Bank Stadium, according to the Baltimore Sun. Dan Clark, 48, of Ferndale, Mary., fell to the bottom of a staircase in the upper deck late in the first half during Sunday’s game. He suffered injuries to his head in the fall and was in “serious condition” at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Clark was scheduled to undergo brain surgery for his injuries on Sunday night, his brother, Jim, said, according to the report.Filed under: Baltimore Ravens, Headlines, Luke Hughes, NFL

Joe Flacco not a fan of Ravens’ Wildcat offense

The Ravens debuted a new offensive wrinkle on Sunday, utilizing the Wildcat attack with backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor under center and starter Joe Flacco split out wide. Let's just say the $120.6 million man isn't a fan of the formation. "It's good and fun for a little bit. But that's about it," Flacco said, via NFL.com. Taylor took five snaps, rushing...

Justin Tucker now leads the league in cocky kicker celebrations

Justin Tucker hit a 52-yard field goal during the third quarter of Sunday’s Ravens-Jets game, and he wasn’t satisfied with the crowds response to his work. He wanted more. This is the same guy who busted out the Terio dance earlier in the year. He’s clearly not afraid to throw his hat into the celebration game. The post Justin Tucker now leads the league in cocky kicker celebrations...

Dennis Pitta won’t play this week

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun,  Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta hasn’t been activated from temporary injured reserve in time for Sunday’s game against the Jets. Ravens had until 4 p.m. to active Dennis Pitta to make him eligible for Sunday. Just started practicing Wednesday. Not rushing him — Aaron Wilson (@RavensInsider) November 23, 2013 Wilson made it clear...

Ravens Hoping To Get TE Dennis Pitta Back In Week 14

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that the hope now for the Ravens is for TE Dennis Pitta to make his return from surgery in Week 14 for the game against the Vikings. According to Wilson, the team is likely to hold off Pitta’s return until Dec. 8th against the Vikings, meaning he would also miss Thursday night’s game against the Steelers. The Ravens have taken a “slow...

Joe Flacco Not Enthused About Lining Up at WR

I noticed this when I watched their game yesterday. Flacco was not happy when he had to split out wide and Tyrod Taylor took snaps from Pistol and Wildcat. Flacco didn’t even attempt to go through with his fakes, he just stood there and watched. He was honest with his feelings about it. “I want to line up behind center,” Flacco said after the Ravens’ 19-3 win over theNew...

Joe Flacco Says Ravens Don’t Look like a NFL Team Running Wildcat Formation

Joe Flacco is not pleased about the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff lining him up at wide receiver this past Sunday against the Jets to run a gimmick play. According to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, Flacco said the “Ravens running the Wildcat, makes them not look look an NFL team.” Flacco reiterated that he doesn't like wildcat. Said it makes it look like a high school...

Ravens Injury Report: DE Chris Canty Limited Again On Tuesday

The Tuesday injury report for the Baltimore Ravens looks exactly like the one released on Monday as the team prepares to host the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night. Limited for a second straight day was starting defensive end Chris Canty (shoulder). Canty, however, is expected to be ready to play Thursday night. Safety Brynden Trawick (ankle) failed to practice again on Tuesday...

Ravens’ Chris Canty injures shoulder Sunday, fine for Thursday

Baltimore Ravens veteran defensive end, Chris Canty, injured his shoulder in Sunday’s 19-3 win over the New York Jets.  Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun reports Canty was limited participation in practice on Monday. Canty left Sunday’s game for a short stint in the locker room after injuring his shoulder.  Examination of the injured wing must have showed no significant damage...

Ravens WR Jones healthy and dancing again

Now that he's got his rhythm back, Jacoby Jones is dancing again. The Baltimore Ravens receiver and former `Dancing With the Stars' performer accounted for 249 yards and scored the game's lone touchdown in a 19-3 win over the New York Jets. Finally healthy after spraining his right knee in Baltimore's season opener, Jones broke into dance after making a fine over...

Ravens Shut Down Punchless Jets, 19-3: Five Things We Learned

The New York Jets travelled to the Baltimore Ravens as the projected number six seed in the AFC. Baltimore sat just behind the Jets in the chasing pack and knew that a win against the inconsistent Geno Smth led Jets would keep their hopes very much alive. The game itself was not a good one. The Jets now find themselves at 5-6, having been held to just 3 points by the Baltimore defense...

Ravens' Defense Flexes Muscles With Win Over Jets

This kind of victory was especially welcome in a year where it seems every game has been extremely close. The Jets' offense totaled 220 yards and Geno Smith looked every bit a nervous rookie with only 127 passing yards and two interceptions. The freezing cold conditions and the wind obviously didn't help but still the Ravens' defense deserves credit for only allowing...

The Wind Cries "Hail" Mary...Ravens 19, Jets 3...

Winds gusting to 35 MPH, temperatures at 25-30 degrees in the shadows of M&T Bank Stadium... it was only fitting that Joe Flacco took advantage of his last possession going with the wind in the 3rd quarter to try to put the hammer down on the resilient New York Jets. Leading 12-3 at the time in a crazy game where not only the Jets were running a wildcat with Josh Cribbs but...

No Time left for Ben as Ravens prepare for Thanksgiving Night showdown with Steelers...

Apologies to the Guess Who, the Canadian rock group who scored big-time in the early '70's with the hit "No Time"... but that song defines exactly the defensive mission of the Baltimore Ravens (5-6) as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-6) in a short-week "must-win' Thanksgiving Day night game. If the Ravens give Ben Roethlisberger "no time...

Geno Smith not a believer in 'growing pains'

It was arguably Geno Smith's worst passing performance as a pro, but the rookie signal-caller refused to blame Sunday's 19-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on growing pains.
