The Washington Redskins will put the franchise tag on Fred Davis prior to the start of free agency next month, according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.Davis was having a breakout season when he was suspended for the last four games for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.If Davis signs the one-year franchise tender, he would be guaranteed a salary of about $5.5 million in 2012.The 26-year old caught 59 passes for 796 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Redskins.
