According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen via ProFootballTalk.com, a unamed representative of quarterback Russell Wilson has called the Seahawks “insisting that something be done” to adjust his current rookie contract. PFT stated taht Wilson and his rips will have to wait two years before he can get a raise. As we’ve mentioned plenty of times (and specifically in relation to Wilson), the new CBA prevents rookie contracts from being renegotiated until three of the mandatory four years have been completed.  While Mort gives Cook an escape hatch by suggesting that the call may have been placed in jest, it’s a joke that the statement was even uttered to the Seahawks. Report: Russell Wilson seeking a New Contract

A 3rd round draft pick, I think it is safe to say that rookie quarterback Russell Wilson outplayed whatever expectations the Seahawks may have had for him coming into the season. Leading his team to a berth into the NFC divisional playoff round, Wilson played like a seasoned veteran all season long. Thrusting himself directly into a heated Rookie of the Year award competition...

Seattle Seahawks 2013 Needs

When the Seahawks’ took Russell Wilson in the 3rd round, it wasn’t really criticized. That seemed to be a fitting range for him. However, then it was reported that GM John Schneider compared him to Drew Brees and “had to have him” because he felt he was one of the top-3 players he scouted in 2011, which sounded like hyperbole and maybe a little bit crazy. The Seahawks then...

2012 was the year of the rookie quarterback in the NFL. Luck And Wilson Headed To Pro Bowl

Now that the Pro Bowl is played before the Super Bowl some of the players can’t make the Pro Bowl since they will be playing in the Super Bowl.
