While the Patriots have not confirmed anything, according to reports, Patriots wide receiver Aaron Dobson has a sprained foot.
The news comes courtesy of ProFootballTalk.com:
Patriots receiver Aaron Dobson will miss Sunday’s game at Houston. Officially, he has a foot injury. Unofficially, it’s a sprained foot.
According to Nick Underhill of MassLive.com, the sprain happened Sunday night against the Broncos. Though some foot sprains can caught (sic) extended absences, Underhill says the Patriots are being cautious with Dobson’s injury.
So, Dobson's injury doesn't sound that serious. Nevertheless, Dobson has already been ruled out for Sunday. Expect Kenbrell Thompkins to take Dobson's reps on Sunday when the Patriots take on the Texans. While Dobson is fairly fluid, the drop-off in production from him to Thompkins is negligible (there are things that each do well as rookie receivers) so the Patriots shouldn't expect a dip in the passing game when substituting Thompkins in for Dobson.
