Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Texans are expected to sign free agent RB Deji Karim early next week.
The Texans, currently on their bye, are planning to add five new players to the roster on Monday, and are believed to be specifically looking to add running back and linebackers, according to La Canfora.
The team have lost MLB Brian Cushing to the IR, released LB Tim Dobbins and cut three rookies for violating the league’s drug policy, so it makes sense that they would look to fill those roster spots.
Karim, 27 next month, had spent the summer with the Texans before being released. Both Arian Foster and Ben Tate are currently dealing with a injuries, so Karim could actually see some playing time in the coming weeks depending on how things go with Foster and Tate. We’ll have more regarding the Texans’ roster moves tomorrow.
