Last season, the Houston Texans received an unexpected surprise when Arian Foster earned the 2010 rushing title after finishing the season with 1,616 rushing yards to go along with 16 touchdowns. While Foster–who signed with the team as an undrafted rookie in 2009–turned out to be a steal and has high potential for the Texans, there is one player that may not benefit from the former Tennessee star’s breakout season–running back Steve Slaton. According to ProFootballWeekly.com, the Texans hope to work out a trade with Slaton before the 2011 season by showcasing him during the preseason–assuming the lockout is over by then. After breaking out as a rookie in 2008, Slaton’s value in Houston has declined over the last two seasons. And with the emergence of Foster last season along with the intention of former second-round pick Ben Tate backing him up–there’s no need for Slaton in the Texans’ backfield.
