Texans nose tackle Shaun Cody briefly left Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills due to "rib issues," Houston coach Gary Kubiak said the next day. However, the Houston Chronicle reported that Cody's condition was more serious. According to the newspaper, Cody sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung. "Shaun has always been able to work through things," Kubiak said in his Wednesday press conference. "We're 100 percent committed to the training room." Kubiak would not rule out Cody's participation in the team's Sunday night road game against the Chicago Bears. Cody has seven starts in the Texans' eight games this season. He's credited with 13 tackles (eight solo) and one pass defensed. The eight-year veteran is in his fourth season with Houston after opening his career with the Detroit Lions. He started every game for the Texans in both 2010 and 2011, but he missed three preseason games this year due to a lower back strain that slowed him early in the regular season.
