PLAYERS: Victor Cruz
TEAMS: New York Giants
According to ProFootballTalk.com, New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz fired his previous agent Malik Shereef to sign with CAA because of their newpartnership with hip hop star Jay-Z. The speculation is accurate.  Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Cruz hired CAA in anticipation of CAA and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation partnering in the overall representation and management of Cruz’s career. Officially, Roc Nation’s first client is Yankees’ second baseman Robinson Cano.  It’s apparently only a matter of time before Cruz joins the client list. What’s really interesting is that if Jay Z plans on being an agent himself, he’ll need a masters degree.  He’ll also need to pass an exam to become a certified NFL, MLB and NBA agent, if that’s what he wants. On the other hand, if Jay wants to not be an agent, he’ll have to be careful of what kind of contact he makes with players because he can start violating rules.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = do
