According to 1500ESPN.com, the Minnesota Vikings have renegotiated the contract of defensive tackle Kevin Williams. The renegotiation was completed on Monday. It cut Williams’ base salary for 2013 from a non-guaranteed $7 million to $4.9 million, which is now fully guaranteed — all but ensuring the veteran defensive tackle will play an 11th season in Minnesota. He previously was scheduled to make a base salary of $7 million plus $500,000 in bonuses in 2014 as well, but that year was deleted with the rengotiation.Williams keeps his $100,000 workout bonus for 2013, but a $400,000 weight clause is dropped. So, the restructed saves the Vikings $2.5 million in salary cap space. They’re now about $6.913 million under their adjusted cap of $129.152 million. With Williams turning 33 years-old in August this is a smart move by the Vikings.  I’m not sure if it’s worth it for them to keep him after this season.  I’m sure a team like the Patriots will sign Williams next offseason. Need NFL Tickets...
