New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, who is in Aspen, Colo. for his wedding to Anna Burns this weekend, had a run in with Aspen police Friday night.

The New York Post reported that Welker and some friends tried to enter Summerology, a Patron-sponsored event at Above the Salt as part of the 30th annual Aspen Food and Wine Classic, without passing through security or checking in with the event staffers. Security tried to stop the group, resulting in a scuffle and the police being called.

No one was arrested; the Aspen police did confirm a "lecture and release" at Above the Salt Friday night, but would not confirm if Welker was involved in the incident.

Welker went on to attend other Food and Wine Classic events, tweeting pictures throughout the weekend, so it does not appear that this will be a lasting matter or raise any issues for the wideout. Welker and Burns are set to be married on June 24 in Aspen.
