The Buccaneers season of bad news may have just gotten worse as multiple Twitter reports say that starting running back Doug Martin could be out for the season after suffering a torn labrum in Sunday’s 31-23 loss to the Falcons. Tampa Bay Times beat writer Rick Stroud who spoke to a source in the organization reported that the Bucs aren’t ready to place Martin on injured reserve just yet and are hoping there is a chance he can return later in the season. Losing Martin is another huge blow for the Buccaneers who have been somewhat fortunate with injuries this season but not without distractions and off-the-field hurdles. Martin was hit in the shoulder in the second half of Sunday’s Falcons game while attempting to reel in a Mike Glennon pass. Martin was off to a solid start before the injury carrying the ball 11 times for 47 yards and hauling in one pass for seven yards. With an offense that has struggled in 2013 losing a Pro Bowler and a player that accounted for 1910 total yards and 12 touchdowns in 2012 will be very difficult if not impossible to replace. So far this season Martin has rushed for 456 yards on 127 carries and one score.
