Patriots Gab:
The Pats backup RB job may be leaning towards former Jets and Raiders RB LaMont Jordan, who has been impressive since joining the team. ProFootballWeekly is reporting that Jordan is making a strong bid to be the number two, and with the injury record for Laurence Maroney, he's one play away from being the feature back. The team will need Jordan in week one, as they will be without RB Kevin Faulk, who will serve a one-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. Don't forget that Jordan got off to a hot start with the Raiders in 2007 before falling out of favor with the coaching staff.
